In our Guide to using Airport Lounges we looked at how you can make the most of your first or business class ticket or your elite membership of the airlines frequent flyer programme. But what for those that do not fly frequently and rarely in business of first? Everyone wants their journey to be as enjoyable as possible and just because you are not flying in first or business or do not have enough miles to be a Gold or higher member of your airline's FFP, does not mean that you too cannot enjoy the use of a comfortable airport lounge. The answer - Priority Pass.

Priority Pass offers travellers a guarantee of airport lounge access. It does not matter which airline you are flying with nor what class you are in, as long as the airport you are flying from has an appropriate lounge, and there over 450 of such airport lounges worldwide, you can have access.

How can you benefit from this? All you have to do is join. Priority Pass conveniently offers three levels of membership, Standard, Standard Plus and Prestige, which allow travellers to decide which is most appropriate depending on how often they travel. Travellers are even allowed to invite guests to use the lounge with them, although there is a small charge at least you are guaranteed the opportunity of enjoying some light refreshments, doing some work and just enjoying the calm atmosphere the lounges offer.

If you do not travel very frequently, then an excellent alternative to Priority Pass is a new system called Lounge Pass, which allows you to pay per use without the need for becoming a member.
